About me

Hi! ๐ so, my name is Gastón Bernstein — but everybody just calls me Gatex .
โ
I’m a multidisciplinary creative with a genuine enthusiasm for everything I do, and I do my best to keep it all balanced. ๐
โโ
Mostly, I'm a musician. I started playing piano at a very young age (my father is a pianist, might have had something to do with it). So I learned piano and guitar, and had a few progressive rock bands. Then I leaned into jazz and started studying. These days, I enjoy composing and performing music across a wide variety of styles and genres ๐น
โ
I got into game audio because I’m quite a gamer, and decided to make a living out of it… and it’s actually been going pretty well! ๐ฎ
โ
I've mainly focused on crafting melody-driven modern soundtracks for retro-looking indie games ๐พ and learning both sound design and implementation.
โ
I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Arts — a very academic field, but one that gave me a deeper understanding of every piece of media ๐
โ
Plus, I like writing! Short stories and tabletop RPG adventures, which I think are the closest thing to writing a video game you can play in real life ๐ฒ If you’d like to dive deeper into this side of me, HERE!
